Last week, our team gathered for a memorable practitioner session dedicated to diving deep into the world of coaching and self-discovery. The energy in the room was palpable as we came together to explore our Insights Discovery profiles, a colourful journey that revealed fresh perspectives on the unique ways we each show up at work.
The morning opened with enthusiastic conversations around the Insights colour wheel. Each of us pinpointed our spots, sparking fun debates and moments of self-recognition. It was fascinating to compare how our red, yellow, green, or blue energies influence not just our day-to-day interactions but also the way we approach coaching itself.
We then rolled up our sleeves for a hands-on exercise: designing a bespoke coaching session. This workshop challenged us to put theory into practice, encouraging each person to draw on their unique strengths, personality insights, and adaptability. In small breakout groups, ideas bounced around on how to maximise engagement and learning impact for future cohorts.
A stand-out moment was our experience with the ‘Into the Box’ coaching exercise. This powerful activity gave everyone a chance to voice real-life challenges, whether professional hurdles or personal roadblocks. The magic truly happened in the listening: practitioners paused, asked thoughtful questions, and held space before jumping into solutions. It underscored how vital attentive listening and open questioning are for building trust and unlocking creative solutions in any team or coaching setting.
Looking back, the practitioner day was more than just an exchange of ideas, it was a catalyst for growth, empathy, and action. By blending Insights Discovery self-awareness with practical coaching tools like ‘Into the Box’, we strengthened connections and walked away better equipped to support our teams and clients. As we left, the buzz of possibility lingered, proof that a day invested in coaching and colour can help us all see workplace challenges in a bright new light.
