Coaching in Colour: How VISA’s Leaders Are Powering Performance with Insights Discovery
Energising Coaching and Feedback with Insights Discovery
On Tuesday, we hosted an interactive development day for the VISA’s team, focusing on coaching skills powered by Insights Discovery. Through highly interactive sessions, delegates explored their personal colour profiles (Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow, Earth Green, Cool Blue) and learned how to use that awareness to adapt their communication, coaching, and feedback styles.
From the start, participants recognised how every colour energy brings something different to the coaching conversation, whether it’s the drive and clarity of Fiery Red, the enthusiasm of Sunshine Yellow, the empathy of Earth Green, or the precision of Cool Blue. By understanding these differences, leaders discovered how to flex their approach to get the very best out of each person on their team.
One of the most engaging moments was the “Into the Box” coaching exercise, where delegates put colour theory into practice. Working in pairs, they explored how awareness of their own and others’ colour preferences could transform the quality of listening, questioning, and feedback. The exercise brought the Insights model to life, helping participants experience first-hand how small shifts in tone, pace, or language can build trust and unlock honest dialogue.
The impact was immediate. Many leaders said they left with practical coaching techniques they could apply straight away, turning feedback from a formal process into a natural, empowering conversation. Several shared in video interviews how the day helped them strengthen relationships within their high-performing teams, making communication more inclusive and impactful.
