Unlocking the Power of Colour: Insights Discovery Accreditation Experience
I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend the Insights Discovery 4-Day Accreditation Course in London. I can honestly say it was one of the most powerful professional (and personal) development experiences I’ve had in years, 4 days packed full of learning with likeminded amazing people.
As someone deeply passionate about training and development, I’ve explored many tools and methodologies over the years. But Insights Discovery stood out to me long before I stepped into that London training room. The concept of using colour energies to understand personality and communication styles felt intuitive, accessible, and impactful. Still, nothing quite prepared me for just how transformative the full accreditation experience would be.
Over the four days, I immersed myself in the world of self-awareness, human behaviour, and team dynamics through the lens of the Insights Discovery model. If you're not familiar, the system is based on the psychology of Carl Jung and uses four colour energies - Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow, Earth Green, and Cool Blue. This easy to remember model helps people understand themselves and others better. And let me tell you, once you see your own colour profile laid out in front of you, it’s like holding up a mirror you didn’t know you needed.
I’ve always believed that great teams are built on a foundation of self-awareness, empathy, and open communication, and Insights offers a framework that brings all of that to life. By the end of the week, I can say with confidence that I now understand the psychology behind the tool and the deep learning of the mathematical nature and research really aligned with my cool blue preference.
The most profound takeaway for me was how deeply it resonated on a personal level. We spent time reflecting not just on how we show up at work, but how we navigate stress, interact in teams, and how we lead or follow. I had several “aha” moments about my own strengths, blind spots, and how my preferences affect the way I communicate.
And then there was the community. Being in a room full of professionals from all kinds of industries, all equally committed to growth and development, was a rare kind of magic. The connections, conversations, and laughs we shared were just as valuable as the content itself.
If you’re looking to bring a practical, engaging, and people-first tool into your organisation or simply want to understand yourself and your team on a deeper level, I can't recommend Insights Discovery enough. This experience didn’t just certify me, it reinvigorated my passion for helping individuals and teams unlock their full potential.
We have been using Insights Discovery and integrating Insights into our client programmes for the last 14 years, and the feedback has always been phenomenal. Now I can add more to our client proposals with my further understanding as well as helping our network of practitioners in enriching what they do in their businesses. It’s all about helping teams communicate more clearly, work more collaboratively, and appreciate the diversity of thought and energy that each person brings to the table.
